story of learning

jonathan escaped from the gang he was previously from a few minutes ago. that group of gangsters gave chase after him however he was just too fast for them.he had decided to leave this group and to continue his studies back in his formal secondary school.he turned back and realised that they were too tired to continue running.he slowed down and rested under the shady tree.remembering what happened a year ago...

"jonathan,you are expelled from this school!"the principle told him in a strict voice.he did not take it to heart and went on to join his gang.he did not even try to plead other schools to accept him.where are his parents to scold and chid him?you may ask. the answer is jonathan is an orphan,no one could be by his side to help him.although,his formal teacher miss lim had told him this phrase"you will not regret if you commit yourself to this learning process,however you will regret if you don't.before sucess fails you,you have already failed sucess."just before he stepped out of the school grounds.jonathan had once thought that this was just an ordinary phrase.little did he know it stayed,infact it lived,in his heart for a very long time until now.he sob uncontrollably upon remebering miss lim.he plucked up his courage and went back to his formal school to look for miss lim.upon seeing her,he told her this"i want to commit myself to this learning process.i will always remember:i will NEVER fail sucess before it fails me,although it NEVER does."both of them cuddled together and cried.jonathan managed to get back to his formal school.at first it was quite hard for him to adjust with the environment as he was older than his classmates by 1 year.he studied really hard as he wanted to do very well in his 'O'levels as well as 'A'levels.however,because of his learning attitude,he was well respected.

years passed,he got back his 'A'level results.he passed with flying colours,he even got a scholarship!he rushed to his secondary school just to thank miss lim personally and told her that he had achieved his goal and did not disappoint her and his parents miss lim was touched and was happy that he actually remembered her.this story tells us that,learning requires commitment and perseverance.do not fail sucess before it fails you although it never does.

service

i often wonder to myself what does service mean when one day my life skills teacher walked into the class telling us that today's topic is service.

she explained all about serving the school, the family ,the public and the society but i was not really sure if i understood all that she had said. so, after the class, i looked for my teacher to verify my questions.

i finally found her in the staffroom and told her that i did not really understand her lesson . she smiled patiently at me and said,"let's take serving the school as an example.you can serve the school in many aspects.for example a leader can help by setting an example for others to follow."in my mind, i thought to myself, but i am not even a leader.as though reading my mind,my teacher said,"everyone can be a leader, you can serve simply by helping others,doing and giving the best you can and learn to contribute." after that, i have finally learned the true meaning of service and now,i learned to be a leader to serve my school.

a story of integrity

" oh please mum! let me buy that new electronic toy which just arrived. it cost $49.oh please!" i pleaded my mum to buy a toy which i desired.

my mother simply shook her head and said,"now celeste, you should just not be wasting your time on such toys,it wastes time, money and it will affect your studies. okay, now be a good girl and go to the market to get some fruits for me and do not stare at me, i mean it, now off you go!"

i went down to the market reluctantly. " how could she do that to me, i am her daughtwer, her flesh and blood. this is unfair!"nevertheless, i grudgingly walked on, finally i reached the market. i ran around picking the fruits which i like, very soon i was paying at the counter.

i then left the market with my mind still on how to get my mum to buy that toy for me when a wallet dropped out from the back pocketof the man in front of me,unnoticed.i stared at the wallet ,it was filled with cash.the devil in me arouused,should i take the wallet to buy my toy?yet again my conscience was bugging me.it was a difficult decision,the image of my friends crowding around me looking in awe was stuck in my head. this was worse than a headache but finally ,i made a decision.

"thanks!you are a very honest girl with great integrity!"the burly man praised as i returned the wallet to him.i beamed at him and felt that i had made the right decision. when i went home, although i could not have the toy, this incident was enough to made my day and what is best?integrity is free of charge but comes with a will of the heart.
